Bronwyn Cornelius
PRODUCER / ACTRESS / WRITER
Bronwyn Cornelius is an established filmmaker and actress with over a decade of experience in entertainment and finance.
Bronwyn is currently in development on several projects including Working Assets, a TV pilot she created and co-wrote, which is being developed in conjunction with EBTV, and that was inspired by her time as a sales trader on Wall Street, and the action-thriller feature Fate, which she is producing with Traction Media (Half Nelson, Hard Candy). She also recently had her directorial debut with the short film Birthday Suit.
The feature film Made In China, which Bronwyn produced and acted in, won the 2009 Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at SXSW (as well as numerous other accolades), and recently sold to IFC Films.
Bronwyn began in entertainment acting in English theater. Her passion for the craft and the industry eventually led her back to Los Angeles where she started her career in production working with veteran Line Producer John D. Schofield on such films as Jerry Maguire and As Good As It Gets. Bronwyn’s production work includes projects with Gracie Films, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Brothers, as well as a number of independents.
Determined to learn more about the financial side of the business, Bronwyn accepted a Vice President position at a firm on Wall Street in 2002, where her goal was to establish a knowledge of finance in order to effectively combine business, production and acting into a successful career in film and television. Bronwyn returned to Los Angeles in mid-2006 and has been consistently producing and acting since.
Upon returning to Hollywood, Bronwyn first produced Lily and Grant, a short film that was selected as a top 50 finalist by Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett for their reality show On the Lot, soon followed by the award-winning comedy feature Made In China.
As an actress, Bronwyn recently played a supporting role in the feature Removal, directed by Nick Simon and starring Oz Perkins, Billy Burke (Twilight franchise) and Elliot Gould (Oceans Eleven franchise), the sci-fi feature film Prototype with Mark Kelly and Steve Zissis, and Made In China.
Bronwyn was born in Los Angeles, educated in England, lived in Hong Kong and has traveled around the world. She currently serves on the board of Global Girl Media (teaching girls in developing countries broadcast and journalism skills), Breaking the Ice* (an international nonprofit based in Berlin, Germany that focuses on conflict resolution), volunteers for Hollywood Heart's Movie Team (filmmaking workshops that give at-risk children the opportunity to create their own short films), and is a founding partner of G21.com (a future consumer network for global change).
* A documentary of Breaking The Ice’s 2006 Sahara Journey ("The Journey of an Olive Tree") premiered at the Krakow Film Festival in June 2009.
